New Year Off to a Great Start

Following one of the hottest summers on record, students in the Bellmore School District were welcomed back to school on September 7. Throughout the District, Charles A. Reinhard, Winthrop Avenue, and Shore Road students were greeted by Board of Education members, administrators, teachers, and staff to begin to what is sure to be a productive school year.

Over the summer, the custodial staff worked cleaning and preparing the buildings, while administrators and teachers returned to school early to prepare for the first day, attending Superintendent’s Conference Day, faculty meetings, and decorating the classrooms.

“I know this smooth opening did not happen by chance, but by careful planning and the combined commitment of our entire staff to ensure every child - from our youngest Rising Star to our oldest Shining Star – feel comfortable and welcome to the new school year,” remarked Superintendent of Schools Dr. Joseph S. Famularo.
