A Discussion on Core Values

Shore Road students attended a character education assembly with retired police officer/actor Paul Failla. Drawing on real-life experiences and historic events, Failla employed humor, drama and role-playing to engage the students in the exploration of topics such as destructive decisions, diversity, dignity and respect, values, leadership, profiling, racism and ridicule.

Tying into the district’s core values and leadership character education program, Failla told the students to “surround yourselves with people who respect you for being you” and to “person up and take responsibility for your actions.”
