It was a night to put their hidden talents on display, as 20 groups of sixth-graders at Bellmore’s Shore Road School performed in the school’s talent show on Dec. 18 Organized by music teacher Laura Laude, the annual student-run show was comprised of dance, vocal and instrumental performances.

While student acts were showcasing their dancing talents with songs such as Selena Gomez’s “Slow Down” and Madonna’s “Material Girl,” or playing a piano solo to Kelly Clarkson’s “A Moment Like This,” student volunteers were moving the show along seamlessly as they acted as masters of ceremonies and the stage crew.

“The talent show is a great opportunity for students to work collaboratively to choreograph a dance routine or to showcase a talent such as drumming,” said Ms. Laude. “It also allows our students who may not be interested in performing an opportunity to run a show, figure out timing and keep the audience entertained between performances.”
