In January, Winthrop Avenue School hosted its bimonthly Core Values Assembly to highlight the character education trait of dedication. “Even though we studied dedication in November and December, we think about the core values all year long,” said Principal Sally Curto. “January is the perfect time to think of dedication, with our New Year’s resolutions in the forefront of our minds.”

During the program, fourth-grade peer leaders made mention of books available in the school library that feature dedication as their main theme. With the assistance of librarian Marjorie Falabella, the students highlighted books including “Bethany Hamilton: Follow Your Dreams” and “The Top of the World: Climbing Mount Everest.”
