In their study of the District’s leadership principles and core values, Reinhard second-grade students are aware that they create their own “weather,” setting the tone for their day. On May 23, members of the Rising Star Chorus set their own weather through song as they performed for administrators, faculty and parents during a concert themed “Bringing Your Own Weather.”

Music teacher and concert director Randi Andersen congratulated the students on their performance. “The students have shown much dedication and teamwork during weeks of practice,” she noted.

The concert provided ample opportunities for students to take leadership roles by singing solos, accompanying the chorus with instruments and relaying facts about the weather between selections. The songs performed included “Sunshine Lollipop” from “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,” an old folk song “It’s Raining, It’s Pouring,” The Association’s “Windy,” melody to Robert Frost’s poem “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening,” a mashup of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “What a Wonderful World” and “It’s Raining Sunshine.”
