Monday, Feb. 25 was a special day at Bellmore’s Charles A. Reinhard Early Childhood Center, as the students and staff celebrated the 100th Day of School. To kick off the day, a schoolwide assembly was held where students showcased their musical skills by singing songs centered on the number 100 and counted their peers by ones, fives and tens.

Following the program, the students returned to their classrooms to participate in mathematical counting games, arts and crafts projects, and writing assignments. The first-graders in David Reilly and Natalie Sicoli’s class focused on predictability and their various skills. Students were tasked with predicting how many times they could write their name, write the whole alphabet, draw stars and complete jumping jacks in 100 seconds before finishing the activity and getting their actual number.
