Sixth-grade students in Stacey Reiner’s and Laurie DiMaina’s class at Bellmore’s Shore Road School joined with sixth-graders in Graceann McClenahan’s class and participated in The INN Challenge. As part of the challenge, the students were asked to work with a team and bring in items for The INN, a not-for-profit organization that addresses the issues of hunger and homelessness on Long Island. Items collected were new and gently used towels and clothing, toiletry items, canned goods, diapers and coffee or tea bags, with each item being assigned a point value. “The challenge was for each team to reach a designated amount of points to win,” said Mrs. Reiner. “Not only did every child participate, but each team significantly surpassed the points they needed!  We are so proud of their efforts!”
