Prior to the December school break, student-musicians spread holiday cheer by sharing their talents with district staff, their peers and the community.

Members of Shore Road School’s chorus, chamber orchestra and select band performed popular holiday songs for visitors, patients and staff at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. Spirits were lifted as the students played and sang “Sleigh Ride,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” “Carol of the Bells” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” The students also caroled throughout the school’s hallways, to the delight of peers, faculty and staff.

Members of Winthrop Avenue’s fourth-grade band and orchestra performed holiday music during the third-graders’ lunch period, as well as for district administrators, office staff and fellow fourth-graders. A festive spirit resonated throughout the school with the playing of “Dreidel,” “Jolly Old Saint Nicholas,” “Jingle Bells” and Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy.”
