Second-grade choral students at Charles A. Reinhard Early Childhood Center in Bellmore took their audience on a tour of the world as they hunted for pirates’ treasure. Opening their Rising Stars concert, the students, dressed as pirates, animals, and other vibrantly colored characters, sang “A Pirate’s Adventure” as they set sail to the Caribbean looking for their treasure. After singing “Caribbean Amphibian,” the pirates discovered their “booty” could not be found and took their audience of parents, family, and fellow classmates to Mexico, Ireland, and India before ending their journey in Hawaii. Conducted by music teacher Randi Andersen, the students taught their audience, “The true treasure is not something you can hold, like gold or silver. It's inside of us just waiting to shine.”
