Toting backpacks and school supplies, the district’s students disembarked from the iconic yellow school buses and carpools eager and excited to start the
2016-2017 school year. Students enrolled in the district’s three elementary schools received a warm welcome from Board of Education trustees, administrators and faculty as they walked to their classrooms. The students were not only ready to establish new routines, but also happy to become reacquainted with former classmates and to make new friends.

At Reinhard, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Joseph Famularo and Board of Education trustees Jay L.T. Breakstone, Janet Goller and Maryanne Kelly welcomed the district’s youngest students. Dr. Famularo noted that he was impressed with the  smooth opening and the way in which students and teachers were well prepared to begin instruction. He also said that the district will continue to emphasize the education of the whole child through the Bellmore Stars character development program and promote the core values of dedication, respect, integrity, teamwork and trust.

“I look forward to continuing to build upon our unique ‘Community of Learners’ and providing opportunities for our students to become productive and global citizens,” Dr. Famularo said.
