Reinhard’s preschool students in Elizabeth Haines’ and Alison Burke’s classes read “The Kissing Hand” and “A Pocket Full of Kisses,” author Audrey Penn’s stories in which Chester Raccoon experiences school for the first time and misses his mother who reassures him that she loves him and has confidence in his ability to attend school.

As a culminating activity, the students went on a scavenger hunt around the building on Sept. 21 to find clues that would lead them to a treat at the end. The scavenger hunt helped the preschoolers focus on their clues, locate various points of interest throughout the building and meet the building’s Star Polishers in order to become more acclimated to Reinhard’s learning community.
