Students demonstrated the leadership principles and core values of dedication and teamwork as they performed in concerts at Shore Road School and the Charles A. Reinhard Early Childhood Center on Jan. 23 and 24.
Under the batons of Shore Road orchestra director Kelly Brandstadter, vocal director Laura Itzkovitz and band director Jennifer MacVicar, student-musicians played and sang a variety of classical and popular tunes including Soon Hee Newbold’s “Mystic Caravan,” the Chainsmokers’ and Coldplay’s “Something Just Like This,” and the “Mission Impossible” theme.

Under the direction of Randi Andersen, the Reinhard second-grade chorus performed songs about “Friendship” including “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” “If I Didn’t Have You,” from “Monsters, Inc.,” as well as “The Gift of a Friend.” The last song, “When Can I See You Again?” added choreography, under the direction of Mallory Aronoff. Students also shared who their best friends were and the importance of having a friend prior to introducing each song.
