Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Winthrop Avenue School fourth-graders celebrated the concept of love during two Feb. 8 Celebration of Music concerts.

Under the direction of music teacher Maria Martucci and choreographer Mallory Aronoff, the Bellmore students sang a milieu of songs about love and respect.

The students’ dedication and team work showed as the vocalists performed a medley of love songs including “You Are My Heart,” “You Are My Sunshine,” “No Mountain High Enough” and “You’ll Be in My Heart.” There were also student versions of popular songs including “What Makes You Beautiful” and “The World Needs Love.” In addition, recorder players accompanied the vocalists during the school’s rendition of “A Whole New World.” The concert commenced with the students’ and audience singing the Winthrop Avenue School song.
