The Winning Stars at Winthrop Avenue School demonstrated the district’s Bellmore Stars Character Development Program’s Core Values of Teamwork and Respect through participation in Nassau County’s Valentines for Veterans program.

Students crafted handmade cards with messages of gratitude to veterans in hospitals, nursing homes, VFWs, American Legions and other veterans’ groups, thanking the individuals for their service to this country. The cards were collected and distributed by Nassau County Executive Laura Curran.
