Student excitement on Feb. 25 was palpable as C.A. Reinhard students entered the building and were greeted by faculty and staff with a hall of balloons and congratulatory remarks for having completed the first 100 days of school. Dressed in decorative T-shirts, the students spent the day strengthening their English Language Arts and mathematics skills with various activities related to the momentous occasion.

“This is a very important day, because the students have really worked hard all year to meet the challenges of becoming Bellmore Rising Stars over the last 100 days of School,” Principal Patricia Castine said. “It’s an occasion to celebrate.”

The PTA surprised the students with a lawn sign celebrating the day. Students counted balloons by fives and enjoyed a sight word scavenger hunt in the back play yard. Additionally, the students displayed their 100-day projects on their T-shirts, made crowns announcing that they are 100 days brighter and participated in various 100-day activities throughout the school day.
