Fifth and sixth graders at Bellmore’s Shore Road School celebrated literacy with a STEAM-based focus during the annual PTA-sponsored Pick a Reading Partner program. Throughout the week of Oct. 18, students participated in various themed days, including Science Monday and Mathematics Thursday, took part in daily trivia and enjoyed a live performance of the Wacky Science Show.

As part of the school’s Wildly Important Goal (WIG) for October, each class was tasked with focusing on literacy with a daily goal of 15 minutes of in-class independent reading.
