The following was sent by the Merrick Avenue Middle School Principal today:

Dear Parents:
This morning at 7:15 AM near the intersection of Dobson Avenue and Birch Drive, a Hispanic male wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans on a bike passed a middle school student and said to her “can you help me?” The student did not respond to him and ran away without seeing him again. Nassau County Police are investigating this matter. Please continue to reinforce safety procedures with your children as we work as a community to keep our children safe.
