A world of stories came to life at Charles A. Reinhard Early Childhood Center as Christopher and Lorraine Agostino brought their “Bodacious Books – Nature’s Tales” show to the students. During the PTA-sponsored Parents as Reading Partners kickoff assembly, audience members participated in the “Have You Read It?” game, which featured questions about different books ranging from timeless tales to modern classics. The culminating event of the program featured “Home in the Sky,” a classic folktale about the sun, moon and ocean, in which student volunteers helped to create an ocean full of life.

PARP is a collaborative effort among parents, staff and community to build a reading partnership between the home and the school, and encourages parents to read with their children for at least 15 minutes per day. This year’s PARP is themed “Under the Sea” and will culminate in a schoolwide carnival in April.
