Students in the RAK Pack at Bellmore’s Shore Road School continued their community service program, as they raised money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Pennies for Patients Program. To thank the students for their $300 contribution, Mr. Fuentes from the LLS visited Shore Road to educate the students about how their donation is helpful to the organization. During his visit, Mr. Fuentes explained that donations are used to support families with expenses, education programs, and support groups. The students watched a video about leukemia and lymphoma and how they compromise the body’s functioning, as well as different treatments for the diseases.
