Reinhard students and staff celebrated the written word during Literacy Day, an event that lasted into the evening.

During school hours, parents were invited into the classrooms for a variety of activities, including a Valentine’s Day theme that featured Amanda Kowalski’s first-grade Sweetheart Day. Parents and grandparents also read to their children and made a valentine craft together. And in Kelly Murano’s kindergarten class, the students participated in centers in which they crafted valentines, magnets and decorative bags.

In the preschool classrooms, the students have been reading all of Laura Numeroff’s titles, including “If You Give a Pig a Pancake.” The district’s youngest students wore their pajamas to school, where they made pancakes and pig masks.

That evening, students were invited to step into the classrooms to hear a story read by teachers and administrators prior to the Board of Education’s public meeting.
