The District’s students enrolled in the Charles A. Reinhard Early Childhood Center, Winthrop Avenue and Shore Road schools disembarked from the bright yellow school buses, toting their school supplies and ready and excited to start the 2019-2020 school year. The students received a warm welcome from Board of Education trustees, administrators and faculty as they walked single-file to their classrooms on Sept. 3. Not only did instruction start immediately, the students became acquainted with former classmates and made new friends.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Joseph Famularo said he was not only impressed with the district’s smooth opening, but the way in which the teachers and students were prepared to begin instruction. He also said the district will continue its emphasis on promoting core values and leadership principles, which are incorporated into its nationally recognized Bellmore Stars Character Development Program.

“The Board of Education and Central Administration look forward to further building upon our unique ‘Community of Learners’ and provide opportunities for our students to ‘Lead and Learn’ as they become productive global citizens,” Dr. Famularo said.
