A cultural celebration took shape at Winthrop Avenue School in the Bellmore School District as students gathered to learn traditional dance routines from around the world.

Circle of Dance gets every Winning Star Leader excited to move their feet during their periodic practices throughout January. In each session, students line up in rows to follow along with their instructor and learn new dances. On Jan. 23, students danced to iconic Hispanic routines around a sombrero and worked collaboratively to make sure they hit the right moves. At the end of each session, students form a circle to watch different groups jump in the middle to show off their dances. Circle of Dance helps to grow students’ appreciation for international cultures and put their foot forward as a leader to their peers.
