Students in the Bellmore Public School District returned to the spotlight for a variety of performances that set the stage for the holiday season on Dec. 23.
First graders at Charles A. Reinhard Early Childhood Center dressed their best and gathered on stage in their respective classes. While holding props, they sang holiday songs including “I have a little Dreidel,” “Must Be Santa” and “Hot Cup of Cocoa” under the guidance of music teacher Joanna Rocco.
The holidays were also welcomed at Winthrop Avenue School as more than 90 third graders performed coordinated movements to accompany songs such as “Santa Claus is On His Way” and “Hanukkah is Here.” Students also narrated the entire show, welcomed the audience and introduced each song. The show ended with a recorder performance of “Jingle Bells” as the audience was invited to sing along. Third graders were prepared for their spectacular performance thanks to the guidance of music teachers Maria Martucci and Erica Glikos.
