teacher reading to kids

Third graders in Avery Breakstone’s class at Winthrop Avenue Elementary School in the Bellmore Public School District were attentive during a read aloud session by Principal Sally Curto.

Students sat and listened to “The Most Magnificent Thing” by Ashley Spires, which taught students about perseverance through the story of a little girl and her canine assistant. In the story, the duo set out to create the most magnificent thing but almost give up until they clear their minds during a long walk. Students discussed in pairs the lessons and storytelling elements found within the book.
