Select musician leaders from Winthrop Avenue School in the Bellmore Public School District participated in the NYSSMA Festival held the weekend of April 28-29.
Held at Grand Avenue Middle School, 32 Winthrop Avenue students from the orchestra and band participated in the festival. Each student spent many hours practicing individually and working with their music teachers. During the festival, they performed a solo, multiple scales and sight readings in front of judges.
