Third graders at Winthrop Avenue School in the Bellmore School District discovered the unique perspectives of their fellow students across the country through a nationwide letters exchange program.

Classmates worked together to craft a letter that would showcase a students’ life in Bellmore, which was sent to classrooms in states as far as the west coast.

Winning Star Leaders received nearly 20 letters in return, displaying facts about the areas fellow students live in and the schools they attend. Students were thrilled to receive each letter and discover the unique perspective they provided. Alongside a map of the United States, the letters are displayed in the hallway showing each state the letter was received from.
