Bright yellow filled the cafeteria at the Charles A. Reinhard Early Childhood Center in the Bellmore School District on June 13, as loved ones visited pre-kindergartners for a sun-themed ceremony.
Students and parents alike dressed in bright springtime colors for “Sunsational Person Day,” a special occasion that marks the end of the school year for children in the universal pre-kindergarten program. The building’s youngest Rising Star Leaders began with a musical performance that included “Mr. Golden Sun” and “You Are My Sunshine.” Students then joined their parents to collaborate on a craft that followed the theme of the day. After completing their crafts, students, parents and teachers joined together for photos in front of a photobooth. Sunsational Person Day was the perfect opportunity to look ahead with positivity as students prepare to move up to kindergarten.
