Students from throughout the Bellmore School District thanked the board of education for their support on Nov. 18 by showcasing how their schools have shaped them into Star Leaders.
On the Winthrop Avenue School auditorium stage, Star Leaders from Reinhard Early Childhood Center, Winthrop Avenue School and Shore Road School gathered to display their leadership and public speaking skills. With a slideshow of photos, students discussed their schools’ annual Legacy Projects, which graduating classes leave behind. Each Legacy Project is a collaborative effort that features a unique contribution from each student who participates. Additionally, the Shore Road Ukelele Club gave a performance of “Best Day of My Life” by American Authors. The musicians shared personal anecdotes of how trustees’ support have positively influenced their educational journey.
