Collaboration is key in Winthrop Avenue School’s Origami Club in the Bellmore School District, as peers carefully make complex folds in papers that result in eye-catching creations.
In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, club members met on March 5 with green sheets of paper in hand to form shamrocks. The young artists put their creativity to the test as they followed step-by-step folding techniques to transform the paper into intricate designs. The activity combined patience, perseverance and problem-solving while also giving students an opportunity to learn about the cultural significance of the holiday. Students brought their shamrocks home to spread St. Patrick’s Day cheer. Through activities like Winthrop’s Origami Club, students continue to explore new interests while building valuable skills in a fun and collaborative environment.
