Students at Winthrop Avenue Elementary School in the Bellmore School District celebrated Earth Day on April 22 in style as they united to show their school spirit.
Winning Star Leaders arrived to school dressed in bright green and blue, signaling their commitment to practicing environmentally friendly principles. The week was also filled with spirit-themed days, such as wearing monochromatic colors on Monday and wearing sports jerseys on Thursday to show their team spirit. Additionally, students had a thrill as they slowly realized that their teachers swapped their water bottles and coffee cups for creative containers for a surprise “Anything but a Cup” spirit day. Each spirit week at Winthrop Avenue helps strengthen bonds between students and staff as collaboration is encouraged.
