Students planting tree in ground.

An annual tradition continued at Reinhard Early Childhood Center in the Bellmore School District as students marked Earth Day with songs and new greenery on April 24.

Kindergartners gathered on stage in the morning as parents and loved ones filled the auditorium room seats for an Earth Day-themed concert. Concluding their show, students vowed to treat the environment with respect through an Earth Day pledge. In the afternoon, kindergartners performed again for the rest of the school. Outside the building, second graders showed their excitement to continue a Reinhard tradition in adding a tree to the school grounds. After reciting the Earth Day pledge, students helped fill the area around the young tree with fresh soil. The tree will be a lasting memory left behind by Reinhard’s Class of 2026.
