A day of fun signaled a year of growth and excitement for the future as fourth graders at Winthrop Avenue School in the Bellmore School District held a grand celebration on June 22.
The fourth grade Winning Star Leaders — who will become Shore Road Shining Stars next year — started the day with an interactive assembly, “The Brain Show,” before classes gathered for a group picture. In the gymnasium, students participated in energetic dance-offs and games as a DJ hosted and played music. In heated games of gaga ball, students eliminated the competition until one came out on top. The strong bonds between students were clear to see as they donned end-of-the-year shirts covered in signatures from their peers. The annual event — a school tradition at Winthrop — is a final celebratory send-off for students as they reflect on the many Leadership Principles and Core Values learned in third and fourth grade.
