Students in Christopher Merz’s first-grade class and Eloise Eisenhardt’s second-grade class at Reinhard collaborated to study Doreen Rappaport’s book “Martin’s Big Words” and discuss the importance and impact of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s teachings.
Each student was asked to select and decorate a word they felt expressed Dr. King’s ideas and beliefs. Students shared their words and understandings with their fellow classmates, and the two classes created a collage to celebrate Dr. King’s life.
