Fourth grade Winthrop Winning Star Leaders mirrored the teachings and messages of Martin Luther King Jr. through an eye-catching creation. They read the book “Martin’s Big Words” and selected an inspirational quote. They created stained glass crafts, reflecting the diverse society Dr. King advocated for. The projects are hung from their classroom window alongside their quote reflections.

Bellmore Stars in Action
We are so proud of and thankful for Reinhard teacher Ms. Hoffman, who calmly and quickly administered aid to a student who was choking. Our nursing staff, Toni Costa and Jenna Maini, immediately lent their support.
Moments like this remind us how important preparation is. Each year at the start of the school year, our nurses provide safety and emergency response training for our staff, ensuring everyone is ready to act when it matters most.

Several graduates returned during the board of education work session to discuss how their time in elementary school shaped their current experience as middle schoolers. Just met with our Star PTA. They do so much for our entire school community. Grateful for their partnership and support. And yes, I am proudly wearing the Bellmore Stars scarf they surprised me with. Thank you! #starPTA

Mr. Merz’s fourth grade class at Winthrop Avenue worked with Mrs. Falabella to create a virtual “Balloons Over Broadway.” Students were asked to choose a character from the Balloon Lineup of the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Using the Sprite Editor App in the Kidoyo Coding platform, students created their own pixel art design of the character they chose. #ignitethestarswithin #starsleadandlearn
