Bellmore honors its brightest stars

For the final meeting of the school year on June 17, the Bellmore Schools Board of Education kept to tradition and recognized standout students and staff during the annual night of recognition.

Star Leaders in the Student Star Polisher Teams at Reinhard Early Childhood Center, Winthrop Avenue School and Shore Road School each received individual recognition for collaborating with their principals and other staff to create opportunities to reinforce Bellmore’s Leadership Principles. Also recognized were students in Winthrop Avenue’s Student Advisory Council, who provided outstanding contributions to the school community. Additionally, the Shore Road School Spelling Bee runner up, Mariam Qamer, and winner, Hailey Pepe, as well as the 5th grade Hackaneers and the 6th grade Hackstreet’z Back, received recognition.

Trustees read messages of farewell to four retirees. They include Theresa Caridi, a teacher aide; Patricia Castine, principal at Reinhard Early Childhood Center; Michelle LaMagna, a special education teacher; and Nancy Sosnowski, secretary to the principal at Shore Road School.
