The Bellmore School District is pleased to announce that Superintendent of Schools Dr. Joseph Famularo is the recipient of the 2025 Ruth S. Ammon College of Education and Health Sciences Community Education Award presented by Adelphi University.
This prestigious award recognizes Dr. Famularo’s exceptional leadership, professional achievements locally and nationally and the enrichment and expansion of college partnerships while serving as chair and member of Adelphi’s College Education Advisory Board. Under Dr. Famularo’s leadership, the Bellmore School District has been designated as a nationally recognized Lighthouse District by FranklinCovey Education and was accepted into the League of Innovative Schools last year. Dr. Famularo was also named the 2024 New York State School Superintendent of the Year. The award was presented by the Ruth S. Ammon College of Education and Health Sciences Dean Dr. Xiao-lei Wang.
